Stashluk Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning & Generators. Serving the Summit NJ area since 1948.
Edward J. Stashluk founded our company in New Providence in the late 1940’s. A plumbing and heating expert, Mr. Stashluk was a master at fixing, restoring or replacing even the most arcane plumbing and heating systems in the large, old homes in the area.

As his company grew, he was hired by many local builders to service the post-war developments that sprung up in Chatham, Summit and surrounding towns. In the early 1960s he began the company’s long involvement with training tomorrow’s tradesmen and women by collaborating with the State of New Jersey Department of Education’s Vocational Division. He gained the state’s certification of approval for our Apprentice Training program, which we continue to the present day.
In addition to his business and technical acumen, Mr. Stashluk was active in the American Legion and organized Memorial Day parades in the area for 41 years. He remained active in the business until 1986.
New Leadership Broadens Service Offerings and Propels Growth
In 1982, James C. Huettenmoser joined the company, eventually succeeding Mr. Stashluk. He continued to grow the company by adding more expertise and introducing new services such as air conditioning and automatic home standby generator installation and maintenance. Jim recognized early on the role that a healthy indoor environment played in providing interior comfort for his customers, a point of emphasis that has been a part of the Stashluk philosophy to this very day.
As the company grew, Jim introduced the company in housing developments in Berkeley Heights and other locales, which led to increasing company’s work force; expanding the truck fleet, adding more new technologies and burnishing its stellar service image. He grew the company six-fold, and relocated it to its present headquarters at 31 Chatham Road in Summit.
Jim’s dedication to continuing education is part of his calling. He has built a program that combines rigorous in-house and factory training. Under his guidance, Stashluk continues to be a registered New Jersey apprenticeship training facility.
